I decided to make growth charts for the kids. I thought it would be a lot nicer than putting pencil marks on the wall.
I had some paper on a 24" wide roll that I cut to be about four feet. Then I cut each one about 8 inches wide.
I currently have them taped to my cutting board for fabric and I was able to use the lines on the cutting board along with a normal ruler to create inch marks all the way up the chart.
We just used some regular construction paper for the letters and I hand drew them, cut them out, and then traced them with markers to give them a border. I labeled the inches and feet, and then the kids put the stickers on. Delaney has butterflies and flowers. Zane has monkey pirates. And Ryan has some sports stuff.
We are looking forward to hanging them up on the wall. It will be fun to measure their growth several times a year until they are grown. They go up to 6 feet, 6 inches, so I am sure none of the kids will outgrow them. But just wanted to make sure in case any of my kids wound up over 6 feet, that we could have enough room to record it.
